Cleaning with Tea Tree oil

I have to say, with all of the blogs I read its surprising I didn't try this sooner because green natural cleaners seems to be the big thing this past year. I finally tried diluting tea tree oil in water to use as an all-purpose cleaner.
I have used tea tree oil for years. When I went to my first girl’s camp my mom put some in all of our shampoo to keep lice and other bugs away. At first I thought she was crazy, but 6 months later when my shampoo ran out I found myself putting tea tree oil in it again. It has a nice smell. Over the years I learnt more great things about it and for many years I have faithfully used it to treat my acne and to heal/clean cuts and scabs on my skin.
I never tried cleaning with it until a few weeks ago and I LOVE it.
The great thing is that it is natural and safe (but don’t eat it). Externally it’s safe. It cleans really well and it does not give to a chemical high headache, and you don’t have to keep your kids into the other room until the fumes dissipate. (Although having your kids in the other room while you clean is always nice. J)

When I say it cleans really well let me clarify, it’s a great all-purpose cleaner, but it’s not going to get crayon off of your carpet or anything like that. I tried it in the two rooms I use cleaners in the most. The bathroom and the kitchen. I cleaned the mirrors floors counters with it in the bathroom it have not tried the bathtub or toilet yet because I really do scrub them when I do and I will probably use my comet for that until its gone. I used it for the cabinet’s counters, table, stove top and microwave in the kitchen.  I also washed down the walls. It did great, it cut through grease better than I thought it would and required very little “elbow grease.”
Just mix 2 teaspoons of tea tree oil with 2 cups of water in a spray bottle.
For cleaning I also like to use hydrogen peroxide, white vinegar , baking soda, and lemon.
